Shaoxing is using its distinctive local industries to advance rural vitalization and promote common prosperity.

In Yuecheng district, the thousand-year-old craft of yellow rice wine brewing is undergoing modernization. From glutinous rice cultivation to intelligent fermentation systems, the entire production chain is now supported by scientific research and brand marketing.

In Shangyu district, fruit farming has become a year-round industry. Standardized cultivation ensures consistent quality, while branded marketing has opened access to both domestic and international markets.

In Shanxiahu town, part of the county-level city Zhuji, the pearl industry continues to shine. From smart aquaculture to precision design and high-value applications such as cosmetics, a fully integrated industrial chain is helping local households increase their income.

In Shengzhou, known for its culinary tradition, xiaolongbao — steamed buns — have grown into a national brand. Through product innovation and branding, the industry now generates more than 5 billion yuan ($700 million) annually. The product is now exported to markets including the United States and Malaysia.

In Xinchang county, nestled in the mountains, Dafo Longjing tea is gaining wider recognition. Scientific management of tea gardens, refined production methods, and a strong cultural heritage have made tea a key force in driving rural vitalization in the region.
