Yuecheng district in Shaoxing has been building a full chain system to drive the emerging low-altitude economy in recent years, leveraging its strengths to advance platforms, industries, applications and services.
The district aims to become a national pilot zone for the sector.
Jianshui Science and Technology City has become the main hub for developing related industries this year, with major projects moving ahead and a more complete industrial ecosystem taking shape. The first mid-sized fixed-wing unmanned aircraft rolled off an industrial park supported by DJI, a leading Chinese manufacturer of dones, landed in the area.

Infrastructure has played a key role in the sector's development. The main structure of the low-altitude economy complex in Jianshui Science and Technology City, with a total floor area of about 35,780 square meters, has been topped out. In front of the complex stands a newly built smart vertical take-off and landing site that can support aircraft weighing up to 6 metric tons and offers flight support, security checks and storage.
Across the district, 40 small take-off and landing sites have been built. By the end of this year, the total is expected to reach 50, forming a decentralized network with a central hub and multiple connection points.
As part of one of Zhejiang's first pilot zones for low-altitude economy, Yuecheng has expanded from integrated circuits into a full chain system that covers aircraft, components and supporting systems. The district has attracted 27 industry projects so far, with a combined planned investment of 33 billion yuan ($4.64 billion).
