This event is one of the premier softball competitions in China and has been held in Shaoxing for five consecutive years. It also serves as a crucial training ground for China's preparations for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
On the opening day of the league this year, teams from Jiangsu, Sichuan, Shanghai, and Beijing defeated their opponents, securing their first victories.
The opening ceremony was held on April 17 at the 871 Central Plaza in Shaoxing Tiandi Mall, marking the first time it has been held in the city's central business district.
It incorporated activities such as street dancing, live band performances, and a meet-and-greet session with the softball players, promoting the integration of sports with business districts and cultural tourism.
April 23 has been designated as Softball Promotion Day, featuring softball outreach and interactive activities to give residents a closer look at the sport.
