Shaoxing’s first kite festival was held on April 25 and 26 at the baseball square in the city’s Dongpu subdistrict.
The event featured an array of giant kites from Weifang city, Shandong province, with the longest measuring up to 2,000 meters and the largest exceeding 100 square meters.
The site included designated areas for kite flying, camping, stage performances, interactive activities, and a marketplace with more than 40 stalls offering snacks, cultural and creative goods, live band performances, and stage plays.
Shaoxing plans to introduce more cultural and sports activities to establish the area as an emerging tourism landmark in the Yangtze River Delta region.
