In Xinchang county, Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, autumn has arrived in full color with persimmons ripening across the hillsides, turning the landscape into a sea of deep orange. Houses are nestled among the trees; their rooftops and courtyards framed by branches heavy with fruit. The bright persimmons hang like small lanterns against the deepening autumn sky.
