Record 715 Shaoxing firms attend 140th Canton Fair
A record 715 companies from Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, are participating in the 140th China Import and Export Fair, which opened on Oct 15 in Guangzhou, Guangdong. The Shaoxing delegation has secured 1,189 booths, marking its largest participation to date as local businesses seek new opportunities in global markets.
Nearly 60 percent of the booths feature customized designs to highlight corporate brands and product strengths.
Innovation is a key focus of this year's fair. Zhejiang GBI Intelligent Equipment has expanded its booth from 9 square meters to 36 sq m to showcase an integrated low-altitude system built around its emergency lighting drones. Capable of remaining airborne at 100 meters for 24 hours, the system uses 4K optical cameras and AI-powered alerts to detect fires, people and boundary anomalies.
Shaoxing's textile and home furnishing businesses are also preparing new products for the fair's third phase. Zhejiang Feile Holding, for example, plans to present more than 20 new home textile designs featuring innovations in fabrics and styling.
Meanwhile, three local companies will participate in the fair's product launch showcase, while 16 have entered the Canton Fair Design Innovation Award, highlighting Shaoxing's growing emphasis on product development and international branding.
