Participants compete in the third Shaoxing Wupeng boat marathon invitational at Donghu Lake Scenic Area in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, on Oct 15. 

Over 60 contestants joined the 5.3-kilometer race, showcasing the city's unique Wupeng boat culture. 

The Wupeng boat is a unique watercraft from the region south of the Yangtze River, named for its bamboo canopy that is painted black.
