The second phase of the Lu Xun Native Place scenic area, the Sanwei Study area, has now opened, bringing scenes from the renowned Chinese writer's works to life through immersive experiences.
At "Xunge's Playground", traditional souvenir shopping gives way to a playful literary experience. Basketball shooting games, ring toss, and self-service photo booths sit alongside cartoon-style characters inspired by the plants and creatures in Lu Xun's writings, including soapberry trees, vegetable patches, polygonum plants, wasps, and the legendary cha (a fictional, badger-like animal in Lu Xun's short story Hometown).
Just a short walk away, "Cha Garden" recreates the iconic moonlit melon field from Hometown. Combining tea drinks, photo opportunities, and creative merchandise, the space turns a familiar literary scene into an immersive attraction.
Visitors can enjoy a drink, take photos among the melon-field decorations and pick up a souvenir to remember their visit. By blending literature with playful design, interactive entertainment, and retail, these attractions give classic literary imagery a contemporary appeal.
