The 2026 Yangming Mind Philosophy Conference opens on Oct 31 in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, drawing nearly 400 scholars, representatives from the International Confucian Association, cultural workers, young sinologists, and university students from home and abroad.

Under the theme "Wang Yangming's Mind Philosophy and a Community with a Shared Future for Humanity", the conference aims to draw wisdom from Wang's ideas — such as "unity of knowledge and action" — to address global challenges. 

During the event, participants will take part in keynote speeches, panel discussions and the "Tianquan Dialogue", along with six thematic sessions covering topics including "Wang Yangming's mind philosophy and the overseas spread of Confucianism" and "Chinese humanistic spirit from Wang Yangming to Lu Xun".

Since its inaugural edition in 2020, the conference has been held for six consecutive years, with Shaoxing designated as its permanent venue in 2022. Over the years, its themes have addressed social governance, common prosperity, mutual learning among civilizations, and cultural strength, making it the highest-level, largest, and most comprehensive platform for Wang Yangming studies worldwide. 

Previous conferences have established the International Confucian Association's Wang Yangming Research Base and the Zhejiang Kuaiji Wang Yangming Research Institute, published the academic journal Chinese Philosophy of Mind, and released multiple academic works.
