Hangzhou's actual use of foreign investment reached $2.61 billion in the first half of 2026, up 11.96 percent year-on-year.

High-tech industries accounted for a record 68.1 percent of the total, 25.7 percentage points above the national average.

Investment sources also became more diverse. In February, Temasek-owned SP Group established its China headquarters for integrated energy in Hangzhou. Singapore Airlines began daily direct flights between Hangzhou and Singapore in June.

By the end of June, Singaporean companies had invested in 674 projects in Hangzhou, with actual investment totaling $12.91 billion, making Singapore the city's third-largest source of foreign investment.

Hangzhou has also begun building a new pipeline of foreign-invested projects.
