The 3rd World Internet Conference (WIC), to be held from Nov 16 to 18 in Wuzhen of Zhejiang province, is expected to present six highlights. 

This year's WIC is co-organized by multiple national ministries, with each session led by a national ministry, national organization or a prestigious university. Qualities of these sessions will be greatly improved and resources from different sectors will be coordinated fully for the big event. 

The Light of the Internet Expo, an exhibition showcasing the world's most exciting and groundbreaking new Internet technologies will first open to the public for free. The expo, anticipated to be open from the afternoon of Nov 16 to the morning of Nov 19, will be divided into six half-day sessions. More than 310 companies will take part in the exhibition, including Microsoft, IBM, Alibaba and Tencent. 

Platforms for interaction will be built by famous Internet companies, like Alibaba and Foxconn, in the form of tea parties. Scattered throughout Xizha and Wucun scenic areas, Internet players are able to make exchanges, as well as enjoy the beautiful scenery at these parties. 

Leading scientific and technological achievements, such as intelligent driving, are going to be unveiled at a press conference on Nov 16. Moreover, 116 enterprises from around the world will display their latest Internet technologies and products during the Light of the Internet Expo. 

Some 1024 volunteers capable of fluently speaking foreign languages will make the conference reception more international. Multilingual service platforms in the media center, hotels and conference venues will provide 24-hour translation services for more than ten languages, including Italian, Korean, Spanish and German. 

During the 3rd WIC, cultural activities with local characteristics will be arranged for attendees. The welcome reception has invited Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra to give an instrumental performance. There will also be a showing of Chinese Opera to present the singing, dancing, costume art, makeup and acrobatic traditions of the classic art form.
