China has been lit up by a vibrant array of shows over the last week celebrating the Lunar New Year.  Take a look at this dazzling lantern show held in Shaoxing city during the Spring Festival.

The show included dozens of giant lanterns in a kaleidoscope of colors, each depicting important stories and symbols from Shaoxing's history and culture.

Most spectacular of all were the lanterns showing scenes from the Butterfly Lovers, the Lantingjixu and Kongyiji, three popular Chinese literary works. Visitors enjoyed a visual feast and gained a better understanding of Shaoxing's traditional Yue culture.
