Shengsi county in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province aims to build itself into an island park.

In March, Zhejiang unveiled a three-year action plan to construct 10 island parks across the province.

According to construction guidelines released by Shengsi, the island park will be composed of the core development zones and coordinated development zones.

The core development zones primarily include Huaniao Island, Shengshan Island, Gouqi Island, Lvhua Island, and Bixia Island, while the coordinated zones include Sijiao Island and Huanglong Island.

A head official at the Shengsi bureau of culture, radio, television, tourism and sports stressed the importance of ecological conservation, city renovation and "all for one" tourism in achieving the goal of building the county into an island park.

Shengsi is the county with the smallest land area in Zhejiang, but it has the largest sea area in the province. It is renowned as a group of natural islands with stunning seaside scenery. The county has been designated as a national "all-for-one" tourism demonstration zone, an acknowledgement of its tourism industry.
