Yanxiapan and Tahou villages in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, were shortlisted for the candidates of the national rural tourism villages, according to a list recently published by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.

Yanxipa in Hengdu town, Sanmen county, is an online celebrity village, which boasts scenic views and a good natural environment with negative oxygen ion content of more than 20,000 per cubic centimeter.

The village has been honored as the most beautiful village, a model village in rural tourism and the title of "National Beautiful Village" in China and it also is a national 3A scenic area (5A being China's top classification for tourist destinations).

In addition to beautiful scenery and serene environment, Tahou village in Chicheng subdistrict, Tiantai county, also has various scenic spots, including Guoqing Temple and Tongbai Taoist Temple.

The village also houses a library, a cultural hall, rural hotels, and fitness footpaths.

A health maintenance-themed resort has taken shape in the village, which has, in turn, promoted the construction of many boutique homestays in Tahou.
