The beautiful landscapes and its vivid Buddhist charm make the Putuo Mountain College of the Buddhist Academy of China a place visitors to Zhoushan shouldn't miss.

Situated on Zhujiajian Island, a national 4A scenic spot, the college covers an area of about 300 mu, with the majority of buildings boasting an architectural style popular in the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

Shutterbugs who have a special preference for architectural photography will marvel at the buildings' exquisite layout and symmetrical beauty.

The college is also a wonderful place to seek tranquility, as it boasts a peaceful environment with fewer worshippers than temples around.

The school's library, which houses more than 50,000 books, is open to visitors. Having a talk with a monk over the Zen Buddhism will become an unforgettable memory.

Take the elevator on the fourth floor and visitors will be able to catch the sight of half of the beautiful landscapes of Zhujiajian.
