Ningbo University has been playing an active role in promoting Chinese culture among foreign students in recent years.

Roughly 90 percent of foreign students in Ningbo are studying at Ningbo University. There are currently more than 3,000 foreign students enrolled in the school.

In 2010, Ningbo University introduced an English course on Chinese culture, making it one of the first universities in the nation to do so.

In addition, the school has partnered with the Ningbo municipal association of folk literature and art to organize a range of activities revolving round local traditional culture, including dragon dance, bamboo roots carving and paper cutting, for foreign students.

More than 15,000 foreign students from the university have learned about Chinese culture to date.
