The Taizhou delegation to the fifth session of the 13th Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress deliberated the provincial government work report, the outline for the province's 14th Five-Year Plan, and the province's long-term development goals for 2035 on Jan 26.

The panel session was chaired by Li Yueqi, Party chief of Taizhou, and attended by a number of provincial head officials.

Xiong Jianping, director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, noted that the provincial government work was a good report based on Zhejiang's reality, which can bolster confidence and increase cohesion.

He urged that Taizhou, as a manufacturing hub, ramp up innovation, leverage its geographical advantages to better integrate into the Yangtze River Delta integration strategy, as well as actively explore reform on grassroots governance.

Wang Changrong, secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, said that the government report comprehensively summarizes the province's accomplishments in the year, suggesting that Taizhou promote innovation-driven development so as to contribute to the province's campaign to build itself into a pioneer in achieving socialist modernization.

Wang Shuangquan, director of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Public Security, praised the government work report as "forward-looking".

He said that more efforts will be made to ensure the stability of the province this year and to improve public confidence in safety.

Jia Yu, procurator-general of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Procuratorate, said the report stressed strengthening the construction of the government under the rule of law, which fully reflects the provincial government attaches great importance to that regard.
