Zhejiang's per capita consumption tops China provinces in 2020

The per capita consumption expenditure in East China's Zhejiang province was 31,295 yuan ($4,844) in 2020, the third highest among all provincial-level regions in the Chinese mainland, according to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics.

Zhejiang's per capita consumption is behind the municipalities of Shanghai (42,536 yuan) and Beijing (38,903 yuan), but is ahead of all the other provinces and autonomous regions in the Chinese mainland.

Guangdong province in South China closely followed Zhejiang, with its residents' per capita consumption in 2020 standing at 28,492 yuan.

The provincial-level regions with per capita consumption falling between 20,000 yuan and 30,000 yuan were Guangdong, Tianjin, Jiangsu, Fujian, Chongqing, Hunan, Shandong, and Liaoning.

The per capita consumption expenditure in Chinese mainland was 21,210 yuan in 2020.
