The Jiaxing delegation at the 13th Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress discussed the work report during the fifth session held in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang, on Jan 26, local media reported.

Huang Jianfa, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, said at the group discussion of the Jiaxing delegation that the work report showcases the decisiveness, perceptiveness, creativity, and execution of the Zhejiang government during the emergency period.

Jiaxing should continue making preparations for various risks and establish a working team of high-caliber officials to guarantee the implementation of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), added Huang.

Zhang Bing, deputy to the National People's Congress and Party secretary of Jiaxing, believes the work report is inspiring, profoundly analyzes existing problems, and sets practical goals for Zhejiang.

According to Zhang, Jiaxing's GDP in 2020 increased 3.5 percent to more than 550 billion yuan ($85.03 billion) and its general financial revenue exceeded 100 billion yuan.

Zhang expressed hopes that the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Zhejiang Provincial People's Government will offer more support to the integrated urban-rural development in the city.

Mao Hongfang, mayor of Jiaxing, noted that the work report focuses on major issues and rallies popular support. He also pointed out that Jiaxing has done a good job in reducing carbon dioxide emissions, which is proposed in the report.

Jiaxing boasts a good foundation in new energy industry, including photovoltaic energy, hydrogen energy, nuclear power and wind power. The photovoltaic industry in the city accounts for half of Zhejiang's, according to the mayor.

Mao said that he hopes the provincial government will support Jiaxing in building a new energy industry demonstration base and high-level laboratories and focus more on the development of northern Zhejiang, including Jiaxing and Huzhou.
