Ningbo's GDP targeted at 1.7t yuan in 2025

Ningbo's gross domestic product (GDP) surged 3.3 percent year-on-year to 1.24087 trillion yuan ($190.9 billion) in 2020, according to the government work report delivered by Mayor Qiu Dongyao.
Wu delivered the report at the sixth session of the 15th Ningbo Municipal People's Congress that commenced in the city in East China's Zhejiang province on Feb 21.
Ningbo's general public budget revenue amounted to 151.08 billion yuan last year, an uptick of 2.9 percent year-on-year.
The city's overall per capita disposable income increased by 3.2 percent to 59,952 yuan. Per capita disposable income of urban residents rose to 68,008 yuan, while the figure for rural residents was 39,132 yuan.
The 10 tasks to improve local residents' livelihoods on the 2020 agenda were fulfilled by local authorities.
In 2020, Ningbo Zhoushan port's cargo throughput stood at 1.17 billion metric tons, up 4.7 percent year-on-year, while the container throughput expanded 4.3 percent to 28.72 million TEUs.
The establishment of the Ningbo Area of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone was also approved by the central government.
For the sixth consecutive time, Ningbo retained its honorary title as a National Civilized City.
In addition, it was ranked among the happiest cities in China in 2020. This marked the 11th time Ningbo was selected as one of the happiest cities in the nation.
