Han Minghua, an inheritor of the provincial-level intangible cultural heritage "Nanhu Lake Sightseeing Boat Making", has been manufacturing Red Boat models to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), local media reported on April 15.

It usually take about seven days to complete a Red Boat model spanning raw material selection, cutting, polishing, and other boat making procedures. "Red Boat models are not just toys. They represent history and culture," said the 67-year-old Han, who is very meticulous when making Red Boat models.

The models made by Han and his team restore the Red Boat that is berthing on Nanhu Lake in Jiaxing where the first CPC National Congress was held in 1921.

Han has been dedicated to making Red Boat models for more than 20 years and in 2013, the 2.18-meter model he made was collected by the Capital Museum in Beijing.

To date, Han and his team has manufactured more than 200,000 Red Boat models, which have become famous souvenirs in Jiaxing.
