The Jinhua-Taizhou railway line opened to traffic on June 25. Passengers can book tickets for it starting from June 26, according to local media reports.

With a designed speed of 160 km/h, the railway line is the first electric railway independently constructed by Zhejiang province. It received a total investment of roughly 19.98 billion yuan ($3.07 billion) and stretches 234,923 kilometers. It is capable of transporting both passengers and cargo.

It is expected to cut travel time between Taizhou and Jinhua to about 1.5 hours. It also marks the opening of the first railway line in the counties of Pan'an and Xianju.

Dubbed the "Green Giant",  the bullet train that will be put into operation on the line will offer a more comfortable travelling experience for passengers when compared with conventional normal speed trains.

It is less noisy, has wider space between seats, and makes charging services more available to passengers.
