As China's third prefecture-level city to be dubbed a World Longevity City, Quzhou – in East China's Zhejiang province – continues its long-earned reputation of being a beautiful and harmonious place, whose residents enjoy good health and longevity, well beyond the norm.

At the end of June this year, the total number of people with Quzhou household registration was 2,562,400 – including 12,406 people aged 90 or above and 89,465 people aged 80 or above.

To top it off, in 2021 it was selected as the "World Longevity Capital".

Quzhou, located in western Zhejiang in the upper reaches of the Qiantang River, is considered as the core area of what is known as the "Big Garden" in the province. It has been awarded the titles of "National Ecological Demonstration Zone", "National Forest City" and "National Garden City".

In 2020, it had 149 senior citizen care institutions of various types, as well as 73 township-level (sub-district) demonstration home-based eldercare service centers and 1,534 urban and rural community home-based eldercare service centers.
