Ningbo's GDP exceeds 664b yuan in H1

Ningbo's gross domestic product (GDP) totaled 664.06 billion yuan ($102.16 billion) in the first half of this year, a year-on-year increase of 13.1 percent, according to preliminary statistics recently released by the Ningbo Bureau of Statistics.

The added value of the city's primary, secondary, and tertiary industries reached 15.93 billion yuan, 312.82 billion yuan, as well as 335.31 billion yuan, representing a growth of 3.7 percent, 16.7 percent, and 10.7 percent respectively.

The industrial added value of enterprises above designated size in Ningbo increased 20.1 percent year-on-year, 0.6 percent higher than in the first quarter.

Their combined profits amounted to 91.62 billion yuan, an increase of 80.1 percent year-on-year.

Stable growth was seen in its service sector, which registered a year-on-year growth of 10.7 percent in added value.

As of the end of June, Ningbo's balances of deposits and loans in both domestic and foreign currencies amounted to 2.61 trillion yuan and 2.78 trillion yuan, up 13.1 percent and 13.4 percent respectively.

The city's investment in fixed assets and foreign trade also showed good performances over the six-month period.

From January to June, the city's investment in fixed assets achieved year-on-year growth of 16.4 percent. Its foreign trade value rose 30.7 percent year-on-year to 563.89 billion yuan, with exports increasing 28.4 percent to 358.16 billion yuan, accounting for 3.64 percent of the nation's total.

Its actual utilization of foreign capital reached $2.18 billion, an increase of 42.9 percent.

Over this period, the total retail sales of social consumer goods Ningbo grew 19.5 percent to 216.13 billion yuan.

The city's fiscal revenue also saw an increase of 25.3 percent year-on-year to 206.56 billion yuan, while its total expenditure in the general public budget was valued at 96.58 billion yuan, up 15.8 percent.
