East China's Zhejiang province will be accelerating the roll out of 59 economic assistance projects in Nagchu prefecture, Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region.

In Nagchu's Lhari county, agriculture technocrats from Zhejiang have been offering local farmers on-site guidance to boost the productivity of greenhouse vegetables.

According to Jia Yongyi, a cadre sent there by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the greenhouses which were built there prior to the Zhejiang technocrats' arrival last year were largely idle as locals lacked the required skills to use them. However, due to the wide-ranging assistance provided by Zhejiang authorities, locals can now make use of these agricultural faculties to boost their incomes.

Last month, the Nagchu High School, which has received many volunteer teachers from Zhejiang, recorded a strong performance in the national college entrance exam, with all its 625 graduates scoring marks above the threshold grade for college admissions. About 58 percent of them were  enrolled in key universities.

Zhejiang also invests heavily in Nagchu's medical sector. For example, Zhejiang has helped local authorities establish a sound telemedicine system, which particularly benefits herders and farmers living in enclosed regions.

Zhejiang has been proactively promoting Nagchu's specialties such as yak meat, supreme pork, and caterpillar fungus, at its business expos, which has significantly enhanced their market profile.
