Nomi Chinese Online, an online Chinese learning platform established by Zhu Beiqi, a Ningbo native, has been offering services to nearly 10,000 Chinese learners across the world over the past three years.

Born in Ningbo's Zhenhai district in 1995, Zhu graduated from the Zhjjiang College of Zhejiang University of Technology.

In 2017, Zhu served as a volunteer who taught Chinese in an international school in North Carolina, the United States. She continued to do so, albeit virtually, after she returned to China.

To make the remote teaching process more effective, Zhu decided to develop a professional app. Within a week, the Nomi Chinese Online platform was launched in a tiny office space that spanned just a little over 10 square meters.

Today, the platform hires more than 100 teachers and provides customized services for Chinese learners of different ages around the world.

Last month, the platform launched an online HSK course to help students studying for the HSK Level 4 certificate, which is required for studying in China.

Zhu said that her ultimate goal is to make Chinese an international language.
