Zhejiang entities to play bigger role in YRD integration
The Developer Alliance of the Yangtze River Delta Eco-Green Integration Development Demonstration Zone (AYDZ) announced the addition of 16 members at the one-year anniversary of its founding on Sept 22, bringing the total number of its members to 41.
Among AYDZ's 16 new members are three Zhejiang-based institutes, namely Zhejiang University, Zhejiang YRD Investment Co, and Futong Group.
Internet giant Alibaba Group and leading architecture contractor Baoye Group were the two Zhejiang-based companies that had joined AYDZ last year.
Founded in 2019, the Yangtze River Delta Eco-Green Integration Development Demonstration Zone encompasses Shanghai's Qingpu district, Wujiang district in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, as well as Jiashan county in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province.
AYDZ was founded in Aug 2020 under the guidance of the management authorities of the demonstration zone. Its members have been contributing to the zone's development of infrastructure, environmental protection projects, industrial economy, and think tanks.
According to Xia Feng, general manager of the Shanghai branch of Baoye Group, the company and fellow AYDZ member Tongji University established a carbon-neutrality architecture research center last year to serve the sustainable development of the YRD region.
