The newly-established Beijing Stock Exchange started trading on Nov 15.

East China's Zhejiang province is home to three of the 81 companies that are currently listed on the Beijing bourse, the third one to be operational in China following the decades-old Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses.

The three Zhejiang-based companies are Sanyou Technology from Taizhou, Qrunning Cable from Ningbo, and Qcom Technology from Hangzhou.

Sanyou Technology is a manufacturer of high-quality equipment for the metallurgy industry. Qrunning Cable is mainly focused on power cables in the domestic market. Qcom Technology is a comprehensive solution provider for information communication technology (ICT).

The BSE is tasked with serving the financing needs of specialized and innovative small- and medium-sized enterprises.

Of the 81 BSE-listed companies, 71 were directly transferred from the NEEQ Select, the highest tier of the eight-year-old National Equities Exchange and Quotations system, an over-the-counter market in Beijing that is also known as the New Third Board.
