The Zhejiang Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the fishing authorities in Japan's Nagasaki Prefecture on Nov 15 signed a memorandum on carrying out fishing technology exchanges in 2022.

During the teleconference at which the MoU was signed, fishing experts from both sides discussed revolutionary technologies regarding low-temperature sterilization and quick-freezing for aquatic products.

Zhejiang and Nagasaki have maintained close ties and had fruitful cooperation in the fishing industry since industry insiders from both sides established friendly relations in 2000.

Officials from Zhejiang and Nagasaki also expressed their willingness to deepen the cooperation during the teleconference.

In the first three quarters of this year, Zhejiang delivered 355 metric tons of aquatic products, up 2.65 percent year-on-year. Zhejiang is also accelerating efforts to bolster ecological restoration and scientific management of fishing grounds.
