The Jiaxing Hurun Global 500 CEO Conference 2021 was held in Shanghai on Nov 18.

The conference was attended by the senior managers of the Chinese region of the 500 most valuable non-State-controlled companies worldwide.

Sheng Fuxiang, director of the administration committee of Jiaxing Economic and Technological Development Zone, expressed his hope at the conference that more companies will invest more in the zone.

Sheng also promised to create the most favorable business environment and offer the most efficient services to these companies.

Rupert Hoogewerf, chairman and chief researcher of Hurun Report, said that in collaboration with Jiaxing Economic and Technological Development Zone, Hurun Report organized the conference for the most outstanding representatives of Hurun Global 500 companies to discuss the global economy, as well as to familiarize them with the zone and Jiaxing, helping the city become a new investment hub of Hurun Global 500 companies.

The Hurun Research Institute also released the list of the top 100 foreign, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan-invested companies in China on the same day, with Taiwan-invested Hon Hai Precision securing first place and Apple at fourth place.

"The sales volume of these 100 companies on the list in China totaled 5.9 trillion yuan ($924 billion) last year, an equivalent to 6 percent of the country's GDP," said Hoogewerf.

He added that these companies employ 2.5 million workers in China and that companies involved in the automobile, medical care, as well as consumer electronics industries made the largest contributions to the local economy.

According to Hoogewerf, Hurun Report will organize more activities in collaboration with Jiaxing in the future.
