This is the story of Mendulo Maria, a 20-year-old girl from Malawi, a country in Africa.

As an undergraduate student at Wenzhou Medical University, this video shows how the girl got in touch with Chinese culture at an orphanage run by overseas Chinese in Malawi, how she has managed to leave the less-developed country, how she was adopted by Chinese parents, and how she studied hard to finally be admitted to a Chinese university.
