The main event of this year's International Museum Day in Zhejiang province was held at the Linping Museum in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province on May 15 to showcase the power of museums in research, education, cultural and rural revitalization.

A series of activities including exhibitions, art competitions, immersive stage drama, and academic lectures will be held at the Linping Museum to celebrate the International Museum Day 2022.

Besides the Linping Museum, institutions across Zhejiang province have planned various events for the day. For example, Zhejiang Provincial Museum has set up an "online museum" with short videos of popular science and online exhibition halls. Zhejiang Museum of Natural History, integrating its collection resources and scientific research achievements, has developed different forms of special experience activities. Shaoxing Museum will exhibit its achievements in the construction of rural museums and how they have empowered rural tourism to promote common prosperity. Cities like Ningbo, Zhoushan and Quzhou have also observed the International Museum Day through various exhibitions, lectures and forums to focus on the achievements made in the development of museums in the province in recent years.

The theme of International Museum Day 2022 is "The power of museums", which aims to emphasize the potential and ability of museums to affect the world. International Museum Day was established in 1977. China has celebrated the day as a main venue with various themes since 2009.
