Jiangbei district in Ningbo, Zhejiang province is actively expanding the nighttime economy, encouraging the upgrading of local nighttime cultural tourism consumption, and injecting more vitality into the city.

Under the theme of "lighting up Jiangbei", Jiangbei district has cultivated a lot of new venues for nighttime shopping, nighttime food, nighttime tourism and other nighttime activities. The "Old Bund at night" has been established as a signature success story for the night economy in Ningbo.

Through rearranging layouts of existing public spaces such as the squares, piers and riverside promenades, as well as implementing light renovations and other projects for relevant riverfront buildings, landscape trails, streets and stores, the district has successfully conducted several flagship night economy projects, such as a 1,640-meter-long riverside walk and the Sanjiang piers used for night tours, to form the distinctive landmark features of the so-called Old Bund area.

Despite the special situations caused by COVID-19 in recent years, Jiangbei district has been steadily upgrading the demand from tourists and residents for diversified consumption options at night, and actively promoting the development of the nighttime economy, to expand the influence of the local nighttime economy and turn it into a new engine for the growth of Jiangbei's cultural and tourism industry.
