World's first Chinese makeup summit held in Hangzhou
The world's first Chinese makeup summit was held in Hangzhou on Aug 17.
The conference brought together experts from Chinese academia and the fashion, film and television, and brand circles, and featured in-depth dialogues and discussions aimed at promoting Chinese makeup culture and advocating the inheritance and innovation of Chinese aesthetics.

During the event, Chinese makeup brand Florasis launched the "Renew Chinese Makeup" initiative that calls on all parties to promote the inheritance and innovation of Chinese makeup. This is the first initiative in the makeup industry that promotes Chinese makeup culture.
Li Ya, a professor at the Shanghai Theater Academy and an expert on ancient makeup, said that even in ancient times, Chinese makeup was a process of continuous integration and evolution. Modern Chinese makeup should hence integrate traditional makeup culture with various modern makeup styles.
Liu Yuedi, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said: "Aesthetics is quickly becoming a trend in contemporary society. China needs an overall aesthetic plan, and the beauty of makeup is one of the most frequently practiced aesthetics in life.”
