Authorities in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, held a themed forum on Aug 18 to mark the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the Hangzhou Internet Court.

The first court to use blockchain technology to settle disputes in China, the Hangzhou Internet Court had concluded 81,443 cases as of Aug 15 this year. One of these cases was even selected as a guiding case by the Supreme People's Court, and more than 70 cases were rated as typical cases in the nation.

The Hangzhou Internet Court has built the country's first Internet litigation platform that allows parties to manage such cases online.

The development of the internet court promotes China's judicial reform and is an innovation in the integration of the judicial system and the Internet. In the past five years, the Internet court has improved its adjudication mechanisms and litigation services, which has in turn improved the efficiency of internet dispute enforcement and helped maintained cybersecurity.
