Five companies from Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province made the 2022 list of top 500 Chinese private enterprises, two more than the previous year.

According to the report released by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce on Sept 7, the top 500 private companies generated a combined revenue of 38.32 trillion yuan ($5.5 trillion) last year, a 9.13 percent year-on-year growth.

The entry threshold for the ranking was 26.37 billion yuan in revenue, 2.87 billion yuan more than last year. Eighty-eight of the top 500 companies each have assets exceeding 100 billion yuan.

Zhejiang topped the nation for the 24th year in a row in terms of the number of listed companies, which stood at 107 this year.

Weixing Group Co Ltd moved up 47 spots to 50th on the list with 40.35 billion yuan in revenue in 2021, making it the highest ranked company from Taizhou. The other four listed companies from the city are Fangyuan Group Co Ltd, Tengda Construction Group Co Ltd, Tiansong Construction Group Co Ltd and Era Plastic Industry Group Co Ltd.

In 2021, the combined revenue of the five companies totaled 155.56 billion yuan.

In addition, four companies - Wexing Group Co Ltd, Era Plastic Industry Group Co Ltd, Zhejiang Supor Co Ltd and Leo Group Co Ltd - from Taizhou made the list of top 500 Chinese private manufacturing enterprises, according to the report.

Companies needed to have at least 12.57 billion yuan in revenue in 2021 to make the list. The entry threshold was 2.52 billion yuan higher than the previous year.
