Xu Chuanzi: A beacon of light for thousands of families

Xu Chuanzi, a delegate to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the monitor of service development class of State Grid Hangzhou Power Supply Company, has won 5 national innovations and 21 invention patents throughout her 14-year career.

Xu Chuanzi graduated from Zhejiang University with a major in electrical engineering and automation in 2008 before working in the metering department of the Fuyang Power Supply Bureau. During her time there, Xu Chuanzi developed an intelligent care system catered to elderly people who live alone. The system was later installed in 1040 homes in which elderly people lived alone.

In addition, Xu Chuanzi participated in the development of the country's first big data application for power utilities which delivered 245 million yuan of electricity tariff rebates to 400,000 users. The application was later promoted throughout the country and benefited many SMEs.

In 2019, Xu Chuanzi stood on the podium of the United Nations and was conferred the title of "United Nations Global Compact China Network Sustainable Development Pioneer".
