Nanhu Lake 1921 Red tourism train resumes operation

The "Nanhu Lake 1921" train from Shanghai to Jiaxing, which was the first Red tourism train in the Yangtze River Delta, resumed operation on March 1, according to the China Railway Shanghai Group Co Ltd.

The train first opened on June 25 in 2021.

It connects Red tourism spots between Shanghai and Jiaxing, including the Site of the First National Congress of the CPC in Shanghai, the Memorial Hall of the First National Congress of the CPC, the Former Site of Bowen Girls' School, the reconstructed Jiaxing Railway Station, the Red Boat on Nanhu Lake, and the Nanhu Lake Revolutionary Memorial Hall.

Two of the train's carriages were made into moving historical exhibition halls, showcasing old photos of Shanghai and Jiaxing and old objects such as tourist leaflets from the 1960s and stamps issued in 1971.

Train No Y701/Y702 leaves Shanghai West Railway Station at 8:45 am and returns from Jiaxing Railway Station at 18:10 am every day, stopping at Jiashan Railway Station on the way. There will be one fixed train per day, with one-way trips taking 1 hour 34 minutes and 1 hour 28 minutes, respectively.

Passengers can buy tickets through the 12306 railway ticketing system.
