Pakistan section within Yiwu International Trade Market opens

A new section within the Yiwu International Trade Market dedicated to goods from Pakistan was recently inaugurated, local media reported on April 18.

The section features an extensive range of affordable, high-quality goods from Pakistan, including jade, wood carvings, and copperware.

A Pakistani trader surnamed Harris said he expects his exports to China to increase with the opening of this new section.

In 2022, Yiwu's import and export with Pakistan was worth 7.11 billion yuan ($1.03 billion), an 88 percent increase from the previous year, according to the municipal bureau of commerce.

In the first two months of 2023, Yiwu's import and export trade with Pakistan totaled 1.23 billion yuan, a 62 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
