More than 50 international students from Morocco, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Congo (Brazzaville), Tanzania, Chad, Haiti and other countries visited Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province to experience Southern Confucianism on May 28.

Kong Lingli, a 76th-generation descendant of Confucius, welcomed the young international students and introduced Confucianism in his speech. He presented them with a copy of the Analects and encouraged them to learn more about Confucianism and become messengers for cultural exchange between China and other countries.

The students visited the Temple of Southern Confucianism and the Chinese Academy of Confucianism to learn about the history of Southern Confucianism.

The two-day event also took the young international students to Miaoyuan village in Kecheng district to worship the God of Spring, Gou Mang, experience local traditions and learn about China's 24 solar terms.

"Thanks to Quzhou for providing such a great opportunity to experience traditional Chinese culture up close," said Amira, a student from Morocco who is very fond of Chinese culture. Amira said that she had only read about Confucius in books before, but now she has worn hanfu and met a descendant of Confucius.
