On Feb 17, Wenzhou's Beibaixiang town welcomed over 30 foreign teachers from Wenzhou-Kean University and their families for an immersive journey into the local culture.

They began by visiting lacquerware and pastry workshops, then headed to Mingxi village for a jewelry dragon ceremony and parade. The day concluded with a communal dinner, offering a glimpse into Yueqing's customs and intangible cultural heritage.

At the lacquerware and weaving workshop, senior craftsman Xu Jianwu shared insights into the crafts and its history, showcasing many exquisite artifacts. Professor Mieke expressed excitement, relishing the chance to interact closely with such treasures.

The visitors were captivated by the rich flavor and delicate texture of Baixiang cake, a local specialty which they sampled at a nearby bakery. Later, in Mingxi village, they watched folk performances, with Tamer from Turkiye even joining in on the dragon dance, eliciting laughter from all.

During the evening banquet, the guests savored a diverse array of dishes, with Kathrine and her husband from the United States bravely sampling unfamiliar delicacies such as jellyfish, fish glue, and beef tripe.
