Dinghai district in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province has made a series of outstanding achievements in carrying out water conservancy projects over the past year.

Specifically, authorities invested 859 million yuan ($119.63 million) to implement 33 water conservancy projects in 2023, including seawall stabilization, reservoir reinforcement, irrigation pump station renovation, drainage system enhancement, and flood control.

The local government also renovated a 10-kilometer water supply pipeline and established nine water stations on remote islands to ensure adequate water supply for rural areas.

The district has significantly improved riverside greenery and public facilities by implementing initiatives such as pocket parks and waterfront promenades.

In addition, authorities developed digital application platforms, aiming to enhance transparency in flood control, drainage, river and lake management, as well as encourage public participation in the campaign.
