Wenzhou's retail sales of consumer goods reach 672b yuan in Jan-Feb
According to the latest data from the Wenzhou statistics bureau, the total retail sales of consumer goods in the city hit 672 billion yuan ($92.87 billion) in the first two months of this year, a 9.7-percent year-on-year increase.
To promote consumption stability and expand markets, various activities were organized, including New Year's goods festivals, celebrations for old brands, and concerts, totaling over 80 events.
During the Spring Festival holiday, the city saw a total consumption of 148.43 billion yuan, a notable 21.28-percent increase compared to the previous year. Various promotional activities were organized across key commercial districts, further enhancing the festive spirit and driving consumption.
While in-person consumption remained vibrant, efforts to boost e-commerce development were also stepped up, with the aim of creating new growth points in the market. Initiatives including the promotion of the settlement of high-quality e-commerce projects and the incubation of new e-commerce brands were launched, aiming to sustainably enhance consumption dynamics and foster economic growth in Wenzhou.
