Adding to the glory, China set five new world junior records and 12 Asian records.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea also performed well, with four athletes securing the golds in their respective categories' total.

The event was praised by Mohammed Jalood, president of the International Weightlifting Federation, who commended Jiangshan for hosting a world-class championship.

The IWF plans to introduce new weight categories in June 2025, reducing them from 10 to eight for both men and women, marking a new era in the sport.
