Ningbo's trade with Central and Eastern European countries (CEECs) reached 19.7 billion yuan ($2.73 billion) in the first four months of the year, marking a 13.8 percent increase year-on-year, according to data released by Ningbo Customs.
The city's exports saw impressive growth, totaling 16.07 billion yuan, a 24.1 percent rise compared to the same period last year. Electromechanical products were the leading export, followed by plastic products and apparel, with all showing notable increases.
According to Ningbo Customs, automotive parts are a key category of electromechanical imports from CEECs. With their strong capabilities in vehicle manufacturing and component production, CEECs complement China's growing automotive industry.
Additionally, the city is set to host the 7th China-CEEC Dialogue on Customs, Inspection and Quarantine Cooperation during the upcoming China-Central and Eastern European Countries Expo & International Consumer Goods Fair, highlighting its commitment to strengthening international trade relations.
Customs officials have emphasized the importance of advancing the China-CEEC Customs Information Center, aiming to foster deeper cooperation and bolster Ningbo's role as a crucial gateway for commerce between China and CEE nations.
