Fifteen representatives from top global universities across nine countries began a cultural exploration tour on July 9 in Dongyang, a county-level city in Jinhua, Zhejiang province. This tour is part of the Z-Leaders Tour event.

The group first visited the exhibition hall of Dongyang Huanyu Entertainment Co, where they viewed costumes styled from various historical periods, showcasing intricate craftsmanship such as Beijing embroidery.

Italian student Emma Jane Barltrop described the experience of seeing these exquisite garments up close as unforgettable, noting that she had previously been amazed by ancient costumes on TV.

The company has released over 60 productions globally, in which they integrate intangible cultural heritage to show Chinese culture to the world.

At Hengdian World Studios, participants donned hanfu — traditional Chinese attire — for interactive role-playing inspired by hit Chinese TV series Empresses in the Palace. They practiced court etiquette, sang songs, and learned the iconic dance in the drama.

Armaan Jhangiani from the United States expressed excitement about wearing hanfu in a setting reminiscent of the Forbidden City, while Shirina Seyitmedova from Turkmenistan said that this immersive experience deepened her understanding of Chinese culture.
