China's first mobile virtual reality cinema recently debuted in Lucun village, situated in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, marking a milestone in immersive entertainment.

Developed by Zhejiang Anji Wuzhi Technology in collaboration with other parts, the innovative form of cinema features a mobile standard container design capable of automated expansion, creating a VR viewing space of up to 180 square meters.

As China's first mobile VR cinema, it brings high-quality immersive viewing experiences to rural areas, offering locals the same level of VR entertainment as urban counterparts right at their doorstep.

"The key feature is its mobility. The entire cinema can be packed into a container truck, allowing us to move it easily from one location to another," said Chen Xia, co-founder of WuZhi Technology.

Following its debut in Huzhou, the "mobile light and shadow castle" will tour nationwide, visiting commercial centers and tourist attractions, providing on-demand immersive viewing experiences.

The launch event featured an exclusive preview of Chang'an, a VR film based on the same-named Chinese animated blockbuster. Attendees, equipped with VR headsets, embarked on a 30-minute journey through the grandeur of the Tang Dynasty (618–907).

The cinema plans further collaborations with top cultural brands, breathing new life into classic stories.
