Yiwu, a county-level city in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, which supplies nearly 80 percent of the world's Christmas products to more than 100 countries and regions, saw strong export growth in the first half of 2025.

According to Yiwu Customs, Christmas product exports reached 1.78 billion yuan ($247.82 million) in the Jan-June period, up 54.2 percent year-on-year. Shipments began as early as April, and in recent weeks, more than 1,200 containers have been sealed and cleared for export at Yiwu Port each day.

Latin America and the European Union were the main destinations, with exports to the two markets rising 40.8 percent and 104.6 percent, respectively, together accounting for 78 percent of the total.

To handle the seasonal surge, Yiwu Customs has deployed large-scale container inspection facilities, intelligent monitoring centers, and smart checkpoints, with staff on duty around the clock to ensure rapid clearance.
