A freight train carrying 16 containers of textile goods valued at 500 million yuan ($68 million) departed from Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, on the morning of Aug 25, heading for Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries. The new route marks an expanded cross-border logistics channel for China Textile City in Keqiao district.

As one of the world's major textile hubs, China Textile City records annual transaction volumes exceeding 400 billion yuan. Export trade from the city has continued to grow steadily, supported by improved logistics and growing overseas demand.

Of the city's over 100 billion yuan in annual textile exports, nearly 60 percent is shipped to destinations across Central Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. The expanding freight network is expected to further strengthen supply chain connectivity between China and markets in Eurasia.

To support regional economic development, China State Railway Group has partnered with customs authorities and China Textile City to streamline international freight services. The effort includes optimizing loading and unloading operations and enhancing customs clearance speed through full-process services such as declaration, inspection, and delivery.
