The first International Film and TV Talent Workshop was recently launched at the Hengdian World Studios in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, focusing on cultivating global professionals for vertical short drama production.
Organized by the Hengdian International Short Drama Alliance and supported by entities including Hengdian World Studios and China Internet Writers Village, this program integrates Hengdian World Studios' filming resources, the content creation reserves of China Internet Writers Village, and AI technologies.
During the training, participants from related sectors, including two international attendees, gained hands-on exposure through immersive sessions that blended theory with real-world application.
They visited filming sites of vertical short dramas that were being shot to observe the operation mode and learn about the complete shooting process, and worked in groups to produce their short videos, from writing scripts to editing.
The members also learned about the preferences of overseas audiences and localization strategies to gather experience for future international short drama programs.
Professor Darren Borrowman from Shanghai Vancouver Film School praised the training session for deepening his understanding of vertical short dramas and giving inspiration to his future teaching.
